Transformation: Dune Buggy
"You can cover a lot of ground just by kicking up dust."
Profile: Drifter lives by the same measures with which she fights - fast, hard, and wild. Others of Drifter's upbringing would be content after eons of fighting with simply enjoying the view of the shore, watching the tide come in. Not her, though...she's as primed and prepared for battle as the hardiest Autobots, and that's the way she likes it. There is something about being on the edge, pushing herself to the limit that charges her almost as much as a strong shot of Energon. She seems to thrive on intensity and danger. Perhaps this is because the first time she really felt alive was during her escape with the other Minibots from Prometheus' lab. Drifter has since refused to look back, opting to put 100 percent and more into every endeavor she partakes in, from the lightest of mundane tasks to the most unrelenting of combat situations. So determined is Drifter to live life to the fullest in every aspect of it that her teammates have come to believe that Drifter simply does not want to revert to the timid creature she was when Prometheus abducted her for his Byzantine experimentations. It's not hard to see why Drifter carries this tenet so close to her spark - being the anti-social being she was made her vulnerable in many respects, even blinded, one could say. The trauma of Prometheus' inflictions upon her has caused her to embrace her spontaneity, which of course has created a tight bond with Pepper, given the girls' shared talent for spicing things up. It's this energetic approach to situations that has prompted Jaw Crusher to assign the most challenging of missions to Drifter, knowing that her determination and spirit are essential factors in seeing a job completed, and that she seems to feed off the riskiness of any mission. Drifter's preference for riding the roughest roads has also established a connection with Lowroad as well, and this is something that she takes special interest in because she knows that Lowroad could very well become a loose cannon of a warrior before this is all done unless somebody tries to instill some self-control in him. Being as close to Lowroad as she is, Isolde takes more than a little offense to this relationship, which only serves to create friction between her and Drifter. But Drifter has never let herself be undeterred by anything since she shacked up with Crusher and the other Minibots, and that's what makes her an indispensible part of the team. Her boisterous but tempered manner make her more approachable than Pepper and more reliable than Lowroad, and despite Drifter's relatively young age, Jaw Crusher sees great things ahead for such a promising Autobot warrior.
Abilities: In dune buggy mode, Drifter's got a range of 1000 miles and can travel readily over extra-rugged or rocky terrain. Apart from that, in both modes she can utilize a gaggle of ionic, infrared, magnetic, sonic, and electrostatic sensors for purposes as varied as mapping out the territory ahead and determining an enemy's position; often this talent has come in handy when she's teamed with Lowroad to collect and transport needed fuel sources. In robot mode, her enhanced speed and agility make her an extremely difficult target for even the most skilled Decepticon sharpshooters to get a bead on. Drifter also has exceptional piloting skills which are put to good use at the controls of the team's hijacked starship, the Galatea.
Weaknesses: Drifter can oft times be a little reckless, both in partying and in combat. When operating alone - something she harbors no fear for - this can be dangerous. And despite the thrill she gets out of roaring across loose surfaces like sand and gravel, they can often get into her gears and cause glitches and other physical inconveniences. She also has a somewhat shorter attention span than the other Minibots, which can complicate her participation in critical mission briefings.
My eleventh re-deco TF, this being a sort of bright-purple/magenta version of Beachcomber, and feminine yet. I tried to go with a solid purple, but then it would have looked too much like the original G1 character, who was blue. Just to keep things interesting, I also gave the body a bit of 'tweaking' to look more like a female-type Autobot (I'm trying to word this carefully since I've heard the 'robots have no gender!' argument against such Transformers all I care to).
